Are you ready for another fabulous bath bomb recipe?! This lemongrass and French green clay bath bombs feel like a luxurious bath time treat, but they are just as simple to make as any other homemade bath bomb.

Natural clays are an excellent way to add color to your homemade bath bombs naturally. I’ve used French green clay as a soap colorant for years and am thrilled with how well it also works in these lemongrass bath bombs!

I love the natural green color the French green clay gives to these bath bombs – it’s a beautiful muted green that won’t stain skin OR your tub. That’s another reason to love clays as a natural colorant – no staining!

Rose clay is another favorite of mine that gives a beautiful dark pink color – feel free to swap it out if you prefer a pink bath bomb.

Ingredients to Make Bath Bombs with Clay

This straightforward recipe is similar to other bath bomb recipes with the addition of green clay for natural colorant and excellent detoxifying properties. You’ll likely have most of these ingredients if you’ve made bath bombs. If not, once you have the base ingredients, you’ll be ready to whip up a batch of bath bombs at any time.

Ingredients for lemongrass green clay bath bomb
  • Baking Soda – Combining the baking soda with a bit of citric acid helps make these bombs fizz!
  • Citric Acid – Using citric acid helps to make these bath bombs fizzy when entering the water.
  • Epsom Salts – Epsom salt is an excellent addition to any bath because it is high in magnesium and helps promote relaxation.
  • Cornstarch – acts as a binding ingredient for the bath bombs and helps them hold together.
  • Water
  • Sweet Almond Oila wonderfully moisturizing and gentle oil, almond oil is odorless and gives these bath bombs a bit of extra skin nourishment. It also acts as a binder for the dry ingredients and helps to hold the bath bombs together.
  • French Green Clay – I’ve used this clay for years in handmade soap, and I love it equally in these bath bombs! French Green Clay is clarifying, nourishing for the skin, and leaves a silky soft finish in bath water. Natural clay is also an excellent detoxifying ingredient (try it in an Epsom salt bath or a fizzing bath powder).
  • Lemongrass Essential Oil – Citrusy, bright lemongrass essential oil gives these bath bombs a fresh, uplifting scent.
  • Bath bomb molds – you’ll need these to form that perfect bath bomb shape. One set will last for MANY batches of bath bombs.
  • Medium bowl for mixing
  • Whisk
  • Small jar with lid
