How to Make Herbal Bath Bombs

Bath bombs take a bit of effort, but the result is worth it! Once you get the hang of making them, they are an easy and cost-effective way to level your bath up. Herbal bath bombs make great homemade gifts too!

Here’s what you’ll need to make these calendula and chamomile bath bombs:

Ingredients for Calendula Bath Bomb recipe
  • Baking Soda – Combining the baking soda with a bit of citric acid helps make these bombs fizz!
  • Citric Acid – Using citric acid helps to make these bath bombs fizzy when entering the water.
  • Epsom Salts – Epsom salt is an excellent addition to any bath because it is high in magnesium and helps promote relaxation.
  • Cornstarch – acts as a binding ingredient for the bath bombs and helps them hold together.
  • Water
  • Dried Calendula Petals – calendula flowers add a pop of yellow to these herbal bath bombs, and the calendula petals infuse in the bath water while you’re bathing.
  • Calendula Infused Almond Oil – I like to use my homemade calendula-infused oil, but you can also use store-bought calendula oil or regular sweet almond oil.
  • Chamomile Essential Oil – Chamomile gives a very light herbal scent and provides some additional soothing properties.
  • Bath bomb molds – you’ll need these to form that perfect bath bomb shape. One set will last for MANY bathes of bath bombs.
  • Medium bowl for mixing
  • Whisk
  • Small jar with lid
